Formerly Superior Tile Works
A tile crew that
learned to build
the whole room.
STW Home Remodeling is a Harrisonburg remodeler that came up through the tile trade — and it still shows in the work.
We started with the tile. The bathrooms came after.
Daniel Aseyev started the company in 2012 as a tile-setting business — the trade he'd spent years learning. Homeowners kept asking for more than tile: could he handle the shower behind it, the vanity next to it, the whole room. So he did.
That order is the whole point. Most remodelers treat tile as the last thing that happens, brought in by a sub after the room is framed. For us it was the first thing, and everything else got built to serve it. A bathroom that starts with a tile setter is planned differently — the slopes, the waterproofing, and the layout all get worked out before the pretty part goes up.
Anyone can set a tile in the middle of a wall. The job is won or lost where the tile meets the trim, the drain, and the door.

The person doing the work
Daniel Aseyev
Daniel has spent more than twenty years in construction. He started swinging a hammer at fourteen and set his first tile at twenty, and he's built three of his own houses and remodeled two more since. When you hire STW, he's not a name on a truck — he's on the job, and the intricate detail work is his.
He runs a small crew, usually two on a job, and keeps the same faces on it from demo to the final grout line. He handles the prep himself, because the parts nobody sees are the parts that decide how the finished room holds up.
“No problem.” What clients hear when they ask for the thing other contractors won't do
How we work
Small crew, one point of contact, no runaround.
A bathroom is a small room with a lot going on. Keeping the crew small and the communication direct is how the details stay right and the timeline stays honest.
The same crew, start to finish
Two people on the job, the same two, from demo to grout. No revolving door of subs, no one pointing at the last guy.
Daniel does the detail
The niches, miters, and transitions — the cuts that make or break a room — are his, not handed off.
Prep before pretty
Waterproofing, slope, and a flat substrate come first. It's the unglamorous work that keeps the tile looking right for years.
Not just bathrooms
We've tiled buildings you've eaten in.
Alongside the residential work, STW has done commercial tile and buildouts across Virginia — restaurant and convenience-store floors, remodels, and new fit-outs on tight schedules where the store can't open until the floor is done. We've never been the reason it didn't.
